My Old Kentucky Home – Good friends, Good Food, Good Fellowship!

After a hurrendous, very soggy week at the 10th Annual Heartland
RV Owners Rally in Elkhart, Indiana back in July, we made our way back south to our old
stomping grounds near Louisville, Kentucky, where we used to be homeowners
before inception of the whole RV thing.  What can we say? We miss our
friends and former neighbors, plus, we had business to take care of while we
are here (ie. dentist appointments, physical banking, renewing contract on our
small storage unit, etc.)  We set up our site at
Taylorsville Lake State Campground; only one site down from where we started our adventure
just last year.

The following morning, our first stop we made was to our favorite
breakfast and lunch cafe’; the
Tea Cup on Main Street in
Taylorsville.  Dave and Laurie (owners and confectioneers) as usual,
welcomed us with a beaming smile, fresh-roasted hot coffees and pastries. Dave
is notorious in Taylorsville for making scrumptious sweet cakes, pies, bear
claws, fruit pastries and so much more.

If you can find a seat there,
you’re golden.  Its always a busy cafe’; open for mornings and lunch.
They are so busy that trying to find time to chat with Dave and Laurie is
difficult at best however, they always manage to find time to refill your cup
of coffee and share a few laughs.  He’ll even put more of his own whipped
cream on your heated pastry if you ask!  If you’re camping, boating,
RV’ing or just passing through Taylorsville, Kentucky, make it a point to visit
them!  Tell ’em Dan and Lisa from RV Liberty sent ya!

Our time is short in
Kentucky; just enough to fulfill several dinner and cocktail hour requests,
finishing up business and making up for the week of rain in Indiana by riding
some of Kentucky’s beautiful back roads and Main Streets.  That’s what our
ventures are all about!
