Campground/RV Park: Galveston Island RV Resort
This Resort is among the best we’ve been to so far. Its sites are amply spaced apart; each paved and long enough for various lengths. Pull-throughs and back-ins are available. Just tell them what you’re looking for according to size. We had outer edge with our back towards a cattle ranch field which we loved because the sunsets were spectacular and our kitties could sit on the back of the sofa to watch the cows and steers. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and stationary charcoal grill. The roads throughout the resort are wide for easy maneuvering and parking.
|In our Cyclone during our 1st visit in October|
The clubhouse is where the bathrooms/showers, coin op laundry, office, small camp store, pool & hot tub, and recreation deck are located. Also close by are the trash dumpsters and propane filling station. The owner/manager ‘Chris’ is outstanding ‘hands on and present’. He really cares about the resort and extending the best hospitality. He takes great care in choosing employees carefully. We’ve always had great service with smiles and friendliness.
The sites are regularly-timed landscaped; grass kept short and they are very mindful about taking care of any fire ant hills that pop up here or there. We had a couple during our station and reported them; the owner/manager took care of them within only a couple hours. The resort is clean and tidy always. There is plenty or areas away from the RV sites to walk dogs and for children to play. The owner is planning on putting in a children’s playground in the near future; also more sites.
|Our second visit the following March in our Landmark 365|
The second time we visited in March, it was very windy and stormy, so we didn’t get to use all of the facilities like last time. Be aware, March is Spring Break so you’ll need to book early if you wish to visit then. We would have given them a full 5 stars however, our only complaint is the allowance of children in the hot tub; especially in the evenings when it would be nice to have an ‘adult relaxation time’. Enforcement of that would be nice but of course, that only goes so far if parents minded their children and respected the rules and other RV guests.
While this park is located a bit west of all the happenings in Galveston, its perfect if you prefer a quieter and less congested RV resort experience. Just be aware, its breezy here on the island. The Resort is about a 20 minute drive to Galveston and all the happenings. Lots to do for all ages! Plenty of restaurants, activities, shopping, attractions, events, etc. downtown. Go aboard the Elyssa or take one of the harbor or duck boat cruises. Click here —-> What to do in Galveston
When we visit this area again, we have full intentions of booking a reservation with Galveston Island RV Resort. We really like this one! For more info, click on the links.
