Do you need reservations to stay at Bay Palms RV Resort?
Considering that Bay Palms RV Resort is located on Alabama’s gulf coast, it’s become a popular destination for fishing and enjoying island life (though it’s not on an island).
So, you will need to make reservations; especially if you plan to stay during snowbird season. We actually made our reservations to stay during December and January two months prior to ensure we’d get a site.
Where is Bay Palms RV Resort located?
This beautiful Alabama Gulf Coast RV Resort is located in Coden, Alabama on the way to Dauphin Island right on Dauphin Island Parkway (route 193)
It’s about 7 miles to Dauphin Island, 30 minutes to Mobile and roughly 15 miles to I-10 (Dauphin Island Exit).
Bay Palms RV Resort Rates and Check-In
Bay Palms RV Resort rates were comparable and competitive to those in the area. They also reflect the fact that it’s located in a highly sought gulf coast environment.
Check-in was quick and efficient. Once we arrived, we found the the office staff friendly and helpful. We were handed a copy of their policy and rules and sent on our way to our RV site.
RV Site & Parking
Navigating to get to our RV site was easy. Most sites are paved concrete pads with exception of the center big rig (where we were) which are hard-packed, crushed shell. They may have upgraded them since our visit though.
Our pull-through site was located in the back middle of the resort. It was easy to pull in despite our toy hauler 44′ length.
There was also plenty of room to put our toy hauler ramp down to unload our motorcycles. We used our ramp as our private RV party patio when the bikes were parked.
As also, there was plenty of room on our site to park our RV, truck and two motorcycles.
But, be aware Bay Palms RV Resort does not provide picnic tables or fire pits at each RV site.
So, you’ll need to bring your own outdoor kitchen setup including campsite table and camp chairs if you care to eat or play tabletop games outside your RV.

Bay Palm RV Park Amenities
I can’t say enough about Bay Palms RV Resort amenities and events!
Let me say this. There is ALWAYS something fun going on at Bay Palms! They leave no stone unturned when it comes to entertaining Bay Palms RV Resort guests.
Depending on time of year, you can expect lots of potluck meals, pool parties, tailgating (Psssst, they’re hard core Alabama fans!), fishing excursions, etc. They even had a big Mardi Gras party during our stay.
Though dated, the bath house is clean and sufficient.
In the same building as the bath house and restrooms, there are two laundry rooms with two washers, two driers each and folding table. The laundry facility is exceptionally clean.
Propane is available for sale and delivered to your site from the staff (small portable tanks only).
The recently remodeled pool and playground is in operation during Spring, Summer and Fall seasons.
They also built an oversized pavilion to shelter from the hot sun or allow parties to continue during tropical rains.
While we were there, they had huge fire pits and grills all for the using.
There also is a small camp store in the office to pick up small incidentals and souvenirs.
I also wanted to add that because of it’s locale and proximity to great gulf fishing, they also have a fish cleaning station.

What we thought of Bay Palms RV Resort
Located south of Mobile, Alabama, this top rated RV resort is a friendly, gated for piece of mind, and a safe place for you and your family to enjoy Alabama’s Gulf Coast!
It’s also perfectly located for day trips to Mobile and Dauphin Island.
While some may question the validity of this facility being labeled ‘resort’, there are several factors that place this one in a resort category.
For one, it’s located right across the Gulf of Mexico with easy access to the beaches of Dauphin Island. It has a beautiful pool. It has propane delivered to your site.
So, while this RV resort may be small and may appear more rustic because of its’ coastal environment, it resembles many that are ‘resorts’.
We did want to be transparent in saying that there are quite a number of permanent residents and they do allow some RV and vehicle maintenance at their sites.
Even so, we made life-long friends here with the full-time residents. The staff and even the park’s stationary residents made us feel welcome!
Bay Palms RV Resort is pet friendly, kid friendly and just all around FUN RV Resort that we promise ourselves to stay at again!!
