What deems an park a luxury RV resort?
Luxury RV resorts will usually have a posh ‘Country Club’ atmosphere. Typically, these ritzy resorts vacation destinations are seemingly selective of their clientele and even RV types and sizes.
They offer more amenities, have meticulous grounds, manicured landscaping, beautiful clean pools and hot tubs, organized activities and classes, pickle ball courts, state of the art WiFi and strict security.
And with all of that, there’s an unwritten rules of expectation such as respectable behavior and cleanliness. In other words, no junkers, no clunkers, no ugly beasts.
But, these posh amenities all comes with a hefty price tag. Luxury RV Resorts are more expensive but, for good reason.
What you should know about luxury RV Resorts before making a reservation
There are a few things you need to know before making a reservation at really any RV park these days. But most notably at higher-end RV resorts.
It’s a no-brainer that some luxury RV resorts may be very exclusive. In that, they may allow only Class A motorhomes or RVs up to a certain age.
Most high end RV and motorcoach-only resorts will have that controversial RV 10 year rule. It may be stipulated in the criteria or rules. Should your RV be older than 10 years old, it would be a good idea to ask.
Arrive at these luxury resorts with a clean RV. Most, if not all, will not permit RV washing at your site. Nor will they allow you to work on mechanics such as oil changes, generator maintenance, etc.
Also, keep your site clean and tidy. Again, keep it looking nice. Each resort may have particular guidelines on what you can keep outside on your site pad. They don’t want your RV site looking like a Walmart toy aisle at Christmas.
Most high-end RV resorts either have roving security or a security gate with an entrance code. It’s important to never give out your gate code. Nor should you bring in guests without registering them at the office.
Particular high-end luxury RV resorts, behavior of all family members and guests should be respectable. These resorts aren’t your typical redneck yacht club or weekend brew haha.
In other words, keep it classy and follow good campground etiquette.
Most luxury RV resorts have dog breed restrictions and allow up to a certain amount of pets. Before making your reservation, you should see if either of these issues apply to you (maybe you have 3 dogs or 2 dogs and 1 cat).
✰ PRO TIP ✰ If your pets will be accompanying you, stay out of the dog house by practicing good pet etiquette.
Also, at most high end RV resorts, you will most likely have to park any storage trailers, your tow dolly or extra vehicle in the RV resort’s storage lot. They typically will not allow you to clutter up your site. Their idea is to not allow their high end atmosphere feel like a Walmart parking lot.
Just be aware that there may be an additional storage storage fee.
Most luxury RV resorts will have, no doubt, have a hefty deposit as well as a cancellation fee. If you cancel your reservation, you may have to forfeit your deposit in entirety based on a short notice cancellation.
So, it’s important to read each luxury RV resort’s cancellation policy. Because once you make your reservation, especially during peak season and busy weekends, they will keep your deposit regardless.
And lastly, when looking at each luxury RV resort site fees, know that the prices typically don’t include add-on fees or surcharges, pet deposits and taxes.
So, now that we have the basics out of the way on what to expect at these kind of high end, luxury RV resorts, let’s see which ones are the favorites! Here’s a select number of high-end luxury RV resorts that offer every amenity in the book.
