RV travel is fun and adventurous but it does come with some challenges. Sometimes finding a safe affordable campground just to lay your head for a few hours may not be on on your route. If only you can score a free or cheap place to pull in for the night that won’t rob our wallet or take us off the beaten path. Well, through our travels, we’ve found some great overnight RV parking options that may be what you’re looking for.
Your phone’s alarm clock rudely interrupts you from dreamland. You begrudgingly fumble with it shut the damn thing off. Slowly, you get up out of your warm swaddle, scuff your feet making way to the bathroom, push your hair from your sleepy eyes. You then look into the mirror and whisper to yourself, ‘how long is this going to take’?
You want to run away from it. But, you can’t because of that dirty, little, three-letter word…JOB. You then think to yourself, “If only I can only run away from it all and go find somewhere to work remotely in camp chair alongside a riverbank.”
Old Man Winter is already making his presence known across the Country and Canada. Some full-time RV owners haven’t or won’t be able to escape the plunging temperatures and piling snow because of their jobs or other commitments. Depending on what kind of RV you own, you may need to supplement your motorhome or towable heating system with a portable heating unit.

Before we started turning the wheels of our RV, we’ve researched, read blogs, watched videos about RV club memberships. Talk about massive overload of information. Although they are great for discounts at campgrounds or RV parks, we needed a few that are more so about community.
When we were just entertaining the thought of hitting the road in an RV several year ago, we learned everything through the internet and ‘the hard way’. We grabbed bits and pieces from online forums, social media, and blogs. The rest was trial and error. However, today, there are three RV educational resources that will teach you every facet of RVing. From how to decide which RV to get to registration and insurance, you’ll come out wiser and lead a successful RV lifestyle!
My first ‘on the road’ episode happened when we were in Idaho mid 2016. I tweaked my back making our bed and those who have experienced bedmaking in RV’s, you know it can get the best of us because of tight quarters….lots of twisting, turning, lifting, and repeat. I needed Chiropractic care.
