In the past few decades, Quartzsite, Arizona, has quite literally become a pilgrimage for traveling full-time RVers. The small, eclectic town draws hundreds of thousands during it’s tourist season in January and February. Quartzsite has become the Boondocking Capitol of the world. For some, its a one-and-done event. But for us, we find more cool places to see and things to do that keep our wheels pointed west on I-10.
Most RVers will tell you that visiting Quartzsite is a one and done RV destination. One week every January lures RVers to the sleepy little town. And then they all leave. Or most of them. However, so not the case for us! In the last days of 2018, we made our third pilgrimage to Quartzsite and enjoyed the town’s quirkiness and open air natural environment that we look forward to our next return.

Petrified Forest National Park and Painted Desert is one of the least visited National Parks. Not understanding why it’s not as popular as other National Parks, we think it should be one of your bucket list destinations when you’re visiting the southwest United States. Its’ unique and vibrant natural features will lead your curiosity into wondering how these remnants were once a forest in the desert today.
And there we were “Standin’ on the corner in Winslow, Arizona, such a fine sight to see”…and all this time, we thought this was a fictional place in a popular 1972 Eagles classic rock song. Oh, but we were wrong! It is very real.
