Van life has become quite popular in the past few years. No longer is the stigma of ‘living in a van down by the river’ for just the downtrodden, gypsies or vagabonds. It’s also become a way of mixing nomadic life with the minimalist lifestyle. Living in a van down by the river is a figurative expression meaning being a complete failure at life, a drain on society. However, nothing could be further from the truth for many, including us, who choose to live minimally in vans or even downsizing to small RVs and campers while enjoying freedom and travel.
When we traded in our 42′ fifth wheel to our tiny 25′ Class C motorhome, we also had downsize our kitchen and bathroom accessories to fit our new minimalist lifestyle. Most of our RV kitchen and bathroom accessories didn’t fit into our tiny cabinets, drawers, and storage compartments. So, I had to come up with smaller solutions without sacrificing function and needs.
Is the Winnebago View an RV or is it a van? That is the question! While it provides all the comforts of what we’re used to in an RV, it offers much more compact RV design when it comes to maneuverability. We downsized from our big fifth wheel to this amazing little compact Class C motorhome to enable us to experience and explore on a much grander scale.
We thought things couldn’t get any better than living full-time in our beautiful Heartland Landmark fifth wheel. However, our decision of downsizing RVs allows us more nomadic adventures! And, our much smaller RV gives us access to places we could have never fit with our fifth wheel. While yes, we do miss the comforts of our former fifth wheel, downsizing RVs gives us many more opportunities to explore and visit off-the-beaten-path places in our tiny Winnebago View Class C motorhome.
