Located just outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Town and Country Campground is a short drive to Twin Cities’ Mall of America, Valley Fair, and other cool places to visit in the area. However, we must give you a heads up, our stay was not what we expected!
A couple years ago, we visited Joshua Tree National Park. We were forced to stay for a few days at a campground due to a storm and a short-term illness that forced us back to the pedestal. Trying to find a campground or RV park in the vicinity on Campendium, we found Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground.
We stayed at Pride RV Resort so we could visit Smoky Mountain National Park and some of the Blue Ridge Parkway in the summer of 2018. If you’ve not visited this part of the country, you’re truly missing out! The lush green trees and foliage throughout the Smoky Mountains is something to be seen. Come check out our review of Pride RV Resort.

Campground/RV Park: Oasis RV Resort – TEXAS (Amarillo)
Location: 2715 Arnot Road, Amarillo, TX 79124 (888) 789-9697
Oasis RV Resort was recommended to us by another RV’er but we didn’t realize the extent of their recommendation. Its been rated as one of five top RV Destinations in Texas. We made a reservation a month prior. This RV ‘Resort’ is beautiful! Oasis RV Resort is located west of Amarillo and is easily accessible from I-40 (exit 60) and only 2 miles from Cadillac Ranch on the Service Road. Campground signs signify a mile from the exit; as well, a huge billboard showing their location (lit up at night!). Love’s Truck/Travel is right at the exit for easy fueling before you park or on your way out.
Campground/RV Park: Santa Fe Skies RV Park
Santa Fe Skies RV Park is located on the Turquoise Trail at I-25 & NM 14/599. Beautiful sunsets, close approximity to Santa Fe and eateries is right around the corner. While we were there, we visited the Miraculous Staircase at Loretto Chapel and Cathedral Basillica of St. Francis of Asisisi as well as enjoyed window shopping in the Santa Fe Plaza downtown.
We checked in approximately 4:00pm; we were the only RVers checking in at the time. The young man cashier was not very pleasant and not very helpful. He just handed us the park map, rules and was more interested in other things. He didn’t let us know about the club house and what it had to offer. The campground is terraced with approximately 90 FHU sites. The entrance is a bit tight for big rigs. Check in is at the large building on the right; there’s also a clubhouseand small souvenier shop. The laundry was small and not adequate for how many sites there are.
Each site is terraced on gravel with concrete pads equipped with a picnic table. Sites are tight and mostly not level; had to use several blocks. We had a hooking and unhooking issue because of it. Other than grills, no open fires are permitted. The roads/aisles are narrow. There are some permanent campers but they are in another area of the park. Free WiFi is located in the clubhouse and only during office hours. Propane is available for sale at the park. Groceries, shopping, restaurants and fuel is fairly close by. RV’ers are responsible for taking their own trash to the dumpster at the park entrance.
Santa Fe Skies is a dog friendly park; there is a dog park and a 3/4 mile walking trail. Do not let small dogs or cats outside; they could end up as Coyote snacks. It can get quite windy at the park, they recommend not leaving awnings out while you are away from your RV.
We rated this park at 2 stars because of the lack of hospitality, maneuverbility and leveling difficulty for big rigs, very close approximity to neighboring coaches and inadequacy of laundry facilities per amount of RVers; also because there WiFi only available in the clubhouse. If we visit New Mexico again, we may look elsewhere.

We found Bay Palms RV Resort via RV Park Reviews. We called to make a reservation about two months prior to arriving. The office staff was friendly and our reservation process went smoothly. She let us know that the day we would arrive, there was a holiday pot luck party. So, I RSVP’d immediately.
Bay Palms RV Resort Location
Bay Palms RV Resort is located on Rt 193. Its about 7 miles to Dauphin Island, 30 minutes to Mobile and roughly 15 miles to I-10 (Dauphin Island Exit).
Rates and Check-In
Their rates were comparable and competitive to those in the area and conducive to the type of location.
Check-in was quick and efficient. We were handed a copy of their policy and rules.
Site & Parking
Navigating the resort was easy. Most sites are paved concrete pads with exception of the center big rig (where we were) which are hard-packed, crushed shell. Our pull-through site was located in the back middle of the resort. It was easy to pull in despite our toy hauler fifth wheel length. There was plenty of room to park our RV, truck and two motorcycles.
Be aware that Bay Palms RV Resort does not provide picnic tables or fire pits at each site.
I can’t say enough about Bay Palms RV Resort amenities! Let me say this. There is ALWAYS something fun being planned or happening. They leave no stone unturned when it comes to entertaining their guests. Lots of potluck meals, pool parties, games, fishing outings, etc. They even had a big Mardi Gras party during our stay.
Bath houses, though dated, are clean and sufficient. There are two laundry rooms with two washers, two driers each and folding table. The laundry facility is clean and in same building as bath house and restrooms.
Propane is available for sale and delivered to your site from the staff (small portable tanks only). The recently remodeled pool and playground is in operation during Spring, Summer and Fall seasons. They also built an oversized pavilion to shelter from the hot sun or allow parties to continue during tropical rains. While we were there, they had huge fire pits and grills all for the using.
There is a small camp store in the office.
I also wanted to add that because of it’s locale and proximity to great Gulf fishing, they also have a fish cleaning station.

Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down?
Located south of Mobile, Alabama, this RV resort is a friendly, code-gated place to enjoy the Gulf Coast! It’s also perfectly located for day trips to Mobile and Dauphin Island.
While some may question the validity of this facility being labeled ‘resort’, there are several factors that place this one in a resort category. First, it’s located right across the Gulf of Mexico with easy access to the beaches of Dauphin Island. It has a beautiful pool. It has propane delivered to your site. So, while ‘small’ and not impeccably manicured (because of it’s coastal theme), it resembles many that are ‘resorts’.
We did want to be transparent in saying that there are quite a number of permanent residents and they do allow some RV and vehicle maintenance at their sites. Even so, we made life-long friends here with the full-time residents. They made us feel welcome! Bay Palms RV Resort is a family friendly FUN RV Resort that we will definitely stay at again!!
